A question for you turntable experts. How would you rate the playback quality, (sq), of the Pioneer PLX1000 turntable judged against the likes of a Project Debut Carbon or Rega RP1 PP turnatble in a domestic hifi system? A sideways move or retrograde step?

No idea what the Pioneer sounds like. But the arm with rubber inside coating can't be very good, especially when compared to the great carbon tonearm of the Pro-Ject.

I don't think the Pioneer is designed for audiophile use. It's a fun TT for DJ's though. I'd buy one if I were a DJ.

Thanks for your opinion Mark, much appreciated.

As this Pioneer is a clone of the Technics SL1200 range which was around for eons I was just wondering if anyone had the Technics deck and could enlighten me as to a comparison between this and the current entry level decks from Project/Rega.
