Pioneer P1 or Denon D-M40

Hello everyone,

I'm just in a process of buying a new stereo system. I have narrow it down to Pioneer P1 and Denon D-M40.

I would like to know your opinion which one to get in term of sound quality. Both system got good rewievs so I'm little confused. I will primarly listen to CDs, occasionally mp3. I have some files in flac format, but flac support isn't deal breaker. I will also use headphones a lot at late hours.

Hi, the denons review speaks for it self great bit of kit and for a top price..

Just to add a little to it though, have you thought of the Marantz mcr-610? I've heard both and love the sound of the marantz so much more

Or if your price stretches the newer model the mcr-611

I have thought about Marantz M-CR611 but I don't know if it is worth that extra money. Is sound really that better and I don't need internet connectivity or bluetooth. Problem is because there is no shop around my area where I could listen to different systems. So i basicly rely on reviews.
