I'm looking for a good surround receiver for my Wharfedale EVO 30 speakers, and to replace my Yamaha 640RDS.

I was thinking about a NAD T785 a week ago but it seems all i can think of now is the pioneer SC-LX81 / SC-LX71 or the Primare SPA21.

The pioneer has all the whistles and bells that benefit from blue ray while the primare has a very simplistic design.

Sound quality is key here and music is slightly more important then movies.

If your maximum budget would be 2000£, what would you choose??

I hope i will be able to listen to the receivers that caught my intrest before i commit buying...

Well as a Primare fan I would obviously lean towards it, though I would be more inclined to get a lesser receiver and team it with a stereo amp through its preouts for music - for example, a 500 quid receiver (if any of those have preouts nowadays) and a 1500 quid stereo amp like, um, the Primare i30.
