Hi everyone, this is my 1st post on What Hi-Fi Forum so be gentle with me! I've recently bought the Pioneer KRP-600M and want too connect my Pioneer SC-LX81 Reciever + Pioneer BDP-LX91 Blu-Ray Player + Sky HD Box! As the Monitor only has 2 HDMI sockets, i presume one would be taken up by the Reciever, this leaves a spare one for either the Blu-Ray or Sky HD Box? Which would benefit most from the straight connection to the Monitor? Hope someone can put my mind too rest, thanks in advance!

Hi Rockdude. The monitor itself doesn't have any HDMI connections. It has two cables. One for the power lead. The other for the "system cable". The system cable plugs straight into the seperate media receiver..That media receiver has 5 hdmi connections. 4 at the back and one at the front (marked input 1, input 2, etc).

I have mine connected up the same way most people do.

First of all - system cable from monitor to media receiver

hdmi from blu-ray to amp

hdmi from sky box to amp

hdmi from amp to media box

If you want I can find out exactly what they are labelled.

You will also need (well strongly advised) a digital interconnect from your sky box to your amp. This is so you can get get dolby digital sound from sky. Otherwise hdmi will only give you stereo. You also have to tell the amp to use the digital cable as opposed to hdmi. Again I can give you step by step instructions if you need them

Have fun.

Just run 1 HDMI to your monitor from the amp, then connect the rest as barnsleydave suggested!

daveh75:The OP has the 'M'(monitor) which doesn't have a media box and not an 'A' barnsleydave!!

Ooops....your first ever reply....and it was wrong. LOL.

Most of what I said still applies. As daveh75 says just run the one cable to the amp. The amp will then control the rest.

Still welcome to the forums. Make sure to ask about mains cables and interconnects 🙂

Hi HD Elvis. I ordered the Monitor back sometime in May, and recieved it late June from Hifi Gear!! Sorry if i made you think that i'd just got it, as you rightly say you just can't get them anymore!! Mine is still boxed up awaiting move to new house, hence my post on how best to connect!!

HI Barnsleydave, thanks for your comments, i sort of new where you were coming from! As my Monitor is still boxed i thought i'd ask the question about connections for when i'm ready to set up my home cinema in a new home! Therefore i will no doubt be back on at a later date regarding Mains,Interconnects,Speaker cables, etc! Cheers.
