This may be a stupid question - looking for a bit of clarification .

My Dad has a Pioneer BDP-LX71 Blu Ray player and has connected it to his Bose 321 GS system using digital coaxial. What I am asking basically is would the sound be better using the current digital coaxial or twin RCA's? As I understand it, the Bose is converting the audio from digital to analogue whilst the Pioneer is sending the digital signal. Would the better option be - let the Pioneer do the digital to analogue conversion and send it out via the twin rca audio out? Or even the multichannels?

Or do you think the current set up will sound exactly the same as changing the coaxial out? I may have misunderstood something along the line, thanks for your thoughts.

Hi blunny89 i am not familiar with bose systems, but if it is Stereo playback you are refering to, i tend to use the phonos with a qaulity cable into my amp, this goes into the CD input on the amp, and a digital cable for the DVD side of things. To be honest i canot really tell a great difference, if i was to really try and a find a difference i would say the phono output gives a little more base, the best thing you could do is try both options, thats if you have a pair of interconnects at hand, but if you are happy with what you are hearing keep it as is, if you try the phono way and you can hear a difference then there you go, result. May some other forum members can throw some opinions on this.

Thanks Andy, when I get time and my Mum isn't in to moan about cables then I'll try a Chord phono over the coax. Thanks for your help.

Any other opinions?

I think the chords will be just fine. and dont think asking questions is a silly thing to do A/V and HiFi is something we all learn about by asking, you only have to look on these forums, anyway anything else just fire away, if i cant answer some one will iam sure.
