Pioneer BDP 51FD Blu ray player

Hello

Please can anyone advise if the following blu ray player has a firmware update to make it profile 2.0

model is Pioneer BDP 51FD

I know it was profile 1.1 when released as i am thinking of getting this player but would have liked the player with a profile 2.0 for BD LIVE.

If this is not possible then i may go for the Pioneer BDP 320 which i have seen for £199.00

I don't think a firmware update can make a blu-ray player profile 2.0. It's hardware based. BD live is currently useless, maybe more useful in the future. I'll prefer the BDP 320 personally.

check out this link to the UK pioneer website, it's the link to the latest firmware update which includes your player to upgrade it to profile 2.0

Hmmm.....appears that only the LX91 can be upgraded to profile 2.0, presumably due to its more powerful processor. It's not clear if even the 51FD is upgradeable to profile 2.0.

Bips:Thanks Big Boss Will go for the BDP320 just in case BD Live ever gets better than it is. Thanks again has i said mate just got my pioneer bdp320 easy setup very happy with choice,and 12 month warranty is from craig hifi shop well worth the £190 i would go for it.
