Picture Stretching on Plasma TVs

I have been viewing alot of plasma screens recently, and along with several others, still can't decide betweent them or the LCD equivalents.

One of the main things I have noticed is the stretching towards the edges of the panel on plasma. In particular, on watching scrolling text like displayed on Sky Sports et al, the stretching is so obvious I don't think I can stand it.

Has anyone else noticed this problem? Does it affect normal viewing?

I can't understand why a widescreeen set would have to stretch a widescreen picture.

i have a panasonic th37px70 plasma and it doesn't do what you mention.

My TH37PX80 is fine.

I suspect rubbish set-up on the TVs you've seen - so many people don't take the time to take screens off factory settings, which look simply dreadful and are set to strange modes....

My 42PX60 doesn't do it either, and I set up quite a lot of plasmas in the shop and they don't do it either, I spend a few minutes tweeking the settings. I'm sure you could spend longer and do better, but set it up properly and it should be fine.
