Hi

Whenever I play older DVD's on my Blu ray the picture is very cut down at both sides. I've set my TV to 16:9 but i can't find anything in my blu ray settings to change. It's a Panasonic BT 230 system.

Any advise welcome , I know it's probably very obvious but us there a way round this or not.

Thanks.

If it's a 4:3 DVD, that's going to happen if you set the TV to 16:9, i think.

If you want to fill the screen (with the potential loss of clarity that entails), change to "zoom" or similar, depending on your tv.

(I don't think it's an issue with the player, but the relevant menu is at Setup - TV / Device Connection - TV Aspect).

Thanks ,

It is a 4:3 DVD and I've tried all Aspect settings on the TV from 16:9 , to 4:3 / Zoom all to no effect.

I'll try the settings on the player

If it's a 4:3 dvd why are you trying to stretch the picture to fill a 16:9 widescreen tv ? it isnt meant to fit a 16:9 screen. If you managed to do it, it would look awful, everything would look extremely stretched & out of proportion, it was never meant to be viewed in this screen ratio. It is therefore not a tv or BD player fault!!
