Hi , I'd like to know the Phono stage capacitance on PM 6004 MARANTZ;
I think it's not easy to test with capacimeter as I use to make with cable and
is important to chose the right ttable cable capacitance, thanks

This does not seem to be a subject that troubles many enthusiasts.

This is primarily because the Shure cartridges that were always so reliant on correct capacitive loading are far less widely used these days, with modern cartridges the issue appears to be of little concern.

Marantz Technical support may be able to help but I would not be surprised if they do not have the data, it comes up so rarely these days.

This leaves you pretty much on your own with this, the 'usual' problem that people had was that the load capacitance was too low, causing the cartridge to peak in the 15-20khz region which could, in some circunstances be percieved as a faint 'zing' at the very top end.

If this is your issue it is reasonably simple to solve, extend your phono cable slightly (use adaptors and a pair of half meter cables to start), this will have negligable effect on the resistance but will increase the capacitance, quite possibly by enough to resolve the issue.

Thank you, Marantz Italy very kind tech. assistance tell me that on 6004 amp's phono input, is C = 200 pF; with previus phono cables total C was 600 pF, too much for Shure m 97 ( as 300 pF is suggested ); I changed tt cable with low C and now total C

is C = 310 pF ( cable+arm+phono amp) and so I have now a little more high freq. presence, but what is more important , less 5000- 7000 Hertz peak!
