I have read the TX-37LZD70 doesn't upscale from composite (ie XBOX360) to 1080p... is that true?

Also is there a definative word on whether this set is true 24fps?

I need help - am planning on buying today. Choices are this or Toshiba Regza 37X3030 at the moment. Budget around £800-900, wnat 1080p at 24fps.

Any other suggestions?

Hi there

As we said in our three-star review of the Toshiba 37X3030: "here's proof that great specs don't always make for a great product".

The Panasonic is a superior set, 'True' 24fps or not - better with Freeview, with DVDs and especially with HD content, where it's punchy, colourful and tracks motion incredibly smoothly.

Re the XBox - I don't see why there'd be any trouble at all. Every Full HD TV's inputs have to scale to suit the screen's resolution.

Your Question --- Also is there a definative word on whether this set is true 24fps? The answer to this is NO it may accept 24 FPS it DOES NOT display it, this was confirmed to me by panasonic yesterday.

and Toshiba Regza 37X3030 at the moment this is 24 FPS Compatible it does NOT display 24 FPS -- If you want this from a Tosh you need the 37Z3030D this displays 24FPS five times.
