Panasonic TX-26LXD70 in use

I saw a friend's 32" version of this TV (which I'm thinking of buying) and was really impressed by the picture, but found the information box that came up when he changed channel intrusive. It's huge and blots out most of the screen. This looks as if it would be annoying when channel-surfing. Is there a way to change it or suppress it, or are you stuck with it?

Not really sure what you mean?

I have the Panasonic 32LXD700 (similar to the 70) and there is no information box which appears when changing channels.
