I bought this plasma a good couple of years ago thinking I was buying into HD until Full HD came along to spoil my party.I also have the Sony STR-DA1200ES AV amp which is pre HD audio codecs.I have been getting a few noise problems on screen lately that are patches of purple colour on backgrounds or skin tones.I don't know if this is a fault on the tv or it is just the limitations of the technology but I am considering a new tv.When the picture is good it's very good but when it's bad it really annoys me, however the real question that I want to ask is will this plasma play 24fps blu-ray or should I just bite the bullet and change my tv.It cost me £1100 at the time.As you can see my system has been put together over a number of years and is a bit patchwork.

I have the same TV and with regards to the 24fps thing it doesn't accept 24fps signals. I tried turning my PS3 to output 24fps and it turned the screen blank. It does accept 1080p resolution images however.

Yup, two of my friends have the same TV and I can confirm the same as Mr alwatson. Just set the 24fps setting off on your Blu-Ray player though and it will work fine.

If you turn off 24fps does that not cause motion judder? I have the same television and have also been looking into getting bluray but decided against due to this possible problem.

It's possible but I don't have any issues with it personally - some are more susceptible than others. Go get a demo before you buy if you're not sure.

I have on occasion noticed motion judder, such as the big panning shots on Planet Earth, but other than that it's fine.
