I am going out today to buy my first flat screen. Having read the reviews the Th-37PX70 sounds perfect. We only watch SD dvd, sky+ and play a lot of xbox360 and wii. I have no intention to upgrade my sky or buy a hd dvd player and the ps3 has no good games (yet) our main seating positions are 2m for gaming and anywhere up to 3.8m away for dvd's etc. The only thing holding me back is the lack of 1080p all my techie mates tell me the lack of this would be detrimental in the future and "why buy old technology when you can have the most future proof" But my partner thinks the 42" is massive and would not suite our room.

Help

I'm going mad

Truth is you'll be hard pushed to see the benefits of 1080p on a 37in screen, and the TH-37PX70 is a fantastic set. What's more, it will accept a 1080p signal and downscale it to 720p, and still produce superb pictures. For further guidance on how to choose your ideal TV, and more on Full HD, click here.
