Hello

My plasma response time to power up is annoying and confusing me....
emotion-42.gif

Sometimes holding down the power button for a few seconds it flicks RED a few times then flicks GREEN, and powers up

Sometimes doing the above, it just keeps flicking RED and does northing, then i give stop and give it a few seconds afterwards and start again and then it does the above and powers up.....

Help??

Has it always done this?

I have had 3 panasonic pannys and the power on has always been a bit like this?

Hold the button on the remote either too short or too long and it won't turn on.
TV power flashes red but doesn't power on.
It seems to be finding just the right amount to hold the remotes button down to get it too start.
My new 42V10 seems much better as the power light changes from red to green pretty quickly.

erm not to sure probably has, just haven't realised it. Though my first one that i had which got sent back within 4 weeks of purchase didn't do this. It took a while but not these long times.

I dont find it acceptable that i have to hold the power button down on the remote to trun the TV on...

Spoke to Panasonic they said that did I change the batteries.......

Got a engineer to look at it, and if he feels that there is no problem with it i get a bill of £36!!!!!

Not happy

I agree that the way they power on is a bit different to all other makes of TV that I have ever had.

My new P42v10 seems a bit better in that the red power light turns green quicker and this indicates that it is powered on.
On my other pannys, the red power light just goes from red to out when its powering on.

Garth look, I have two Pannys Plasma Sets 37" and 50" . Hardly ever use standby, But when I do; to get set back on I just press a channel button [ say for instance 5 ] channel five appears almost immediately. Have you tried this yourself.

I haven't, shall give it ago thanks. But if it was on standby do you have to hold down the power button to power the TV up?

Just tried as suggested from standby.

So pressing number 1 will power up the tv.
However this appears to me to be about the same as using the standby button.

A quick press of the number and TV does not turn on.
A prolonged press (similar to the standby button) and it will turn on.
So no real difference for me.
