Panasonic 37LZD85 vs. 42PZ80

I am interested in either the 37LZD85 or the 42PZ80 or 85. On paper and from people's experiences with the corresponding models that these replace (LZD70 in the case of the LCD) which would you be leaning towards? At the moment i am thinking of going Plasma.

I have seen these new models for pre-order on dabs.com and 1staudiovisual but has anyone seen some good prices elsewhere for this new line?

dont rely on them prices they do change when they get the stock...

but otherwise the plasma 100%, better black levels... better motion handling... just better ^^

Thanks for the advice. I spoke with Panasonic customer services yesterday and the guy was extremely knowledgeable - my leaning towards plasma is now a definate decision!

By the way he said that the 42PZ85 was being shipped to dealers now and the 42PZ80 by the end of the month.

Hi, just out of interest, are you going to be using games consoles on your tv? I'm in the same position as you im torn between the lcd and plasma, i would love to have a 1080p plasma set BUT I'm going to mainly using the tv for my games consoles, which kinda makes me want to leave plasma's alone due to image burn...I've seen some nasty cases of that with plasmas being used for gaming...

Hi, at the moment i don't have a console though plan to get a PS3 in a few months - more for Blu Ray than games to be honest.

I don't think screen burn is an issue anymore from what i have read!

Indeed, a quick search on this forum for "plasma" and "screen burn" should put your mind at rest. And yes, that's even with games consoles!
