Panasonic 32LZD80 or 32LZD85 - Please Help!

Having decided on a 32" screen I have narrowed my choice down to either the LZD80 or LZD85 but need some professional advice.

The TV will be connected to Virgin media cable and use of any HD input initially will be limited although I expect this to increase in the future as inevatbly cable companies will reduce the cost. Based on increased utilisation of HD sources in the future I am leaning towards the LZD85 but am worried that I will be getting a poorer picture in the meantime as the TV will have to upscale the pictures.

Will this loss in performance be noticeable and will the additional features on the LZD85 i.e 100Hz compensate for this?

I had a conversation about this in Currys.digital today, their initial thoughts were that unless I was a real "TV expert I wouldn't make much difference, but when I pointed out that I would be watching a lot of Sport they suggested that the 100Hz on the 85 would be of benefit for fast motion.

I'd be interested to know of any thoughts on other differences between the two sets as well please, since they were both top-rated in your tests.
