OrbeSE/Gyrodec SE dimensions etc

Can anyone with an Orbe SE or Gyrodec SE measure the width and depth for me as I am not sure that the dimensions quoted in WHF(S&V) are correct and I am considering buying an Orbe SE but only have a turntable shelf to put it on and want to make sure it will fit.
Also does anyone know if a 1986 Rega RB300 arm will fit. My arm has got about 1.25ins of thread to fix it with and I am not sure if this is long enough.

Is the small dust cover worth buying or am I better off with a full lid that I have to lift completely off before using?.
