hi i've just seen the optoma hd800 projector for £799 at pcworld online, it seems to offer a lot at this price i've not seen much else with full hd around that price. as anyone got one and how do you rate it. thanks darren

The HD20 is a new, and current, full 1080p DLP projector, specifically designed for home cinema use.

i did ask if anyone knew how the optoma hd800 compared with the new optoma hd20 some time ago, but it did'nt get an response. as the hd800 sold for around £1100 when it come out & the hd20 sells for around £800-900 i thought they might be very much a like to live with, but if you know better please let me know

Initial deliveries of the HD20 were extremely small - most dealers only got one or two, not enough to fulfill back orders, let alone have one on demo to see it in action. So chances are, when you asked, very few people would've seen one.

For me, the main drawbacks are that it is DLP (rainbow effect), and the lack of lens shift. If these aren't an issue for you, it's a strong projector for the money.
