I don't know if there are any mathematical calculations to work this out to the mm, but I'm wanting to fasten my 42-inch TV to the wall and need help working out how high up the wall to put it. It's not the biggest room - 12ft - and I don't want to spend my evenings looking up like I'm at the front row of the cinema.

Any advice would be appreciated before I start drilling.

I think your eye level should be in line with the top of you tv, but most ppl don't do this exactly. Mine is level the centre of my screen and i have the screen angling down ever so slightly to my seating position.

There's loads of conficting advice about this, but I did read that the THX spec states that your eye level when seated should be roughly a 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the screen. I've mounted mine with the bottom of the screen 850mm from the floor and it seems fine.

Hi all - thanks for the advice. One more question - when the TV is on
the wall, what's the best stand set-up to use to put the other machines
on (Blu-Ray, SkyHD, video etc)? Is there a specific certain cabinet
that's used for these occasions?

If you don't mind it on show then a lot of ppl go for this i've heard, type in your browser:http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/search/?query=lack+tv
Cheap, large and looks the part, i am thinking of getting one too.
