Onkyo TX-SR607 with Focal Dome 5.1 or KEF 3005se

I have an oportunity to buy some Focals at a great price. I spoke to a store about a demo with my Onkyo amp, he advised me that this would not be a good pairing because the speakers would be too good for my amp and therfore it would be like putting F1 tyres on a road car.

I had tested the Kef 3005se at the weekend and this sounded awesome with my amp.

Do I get the Kef and pair with my Onkyo or ignore the advise and buy the Focals at the bargain price?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

The Focal Dome 5.1 are excellent, I have installed a few systems with them and also have some at home. Everyone likes them so far.

If you are getting them at a great price then I would say buy them, is always nice to listen first though if you can 🙂

If your dealer has done a great price it might be best to keep things off the internet 😉
