onkyo sr505e 7.1 amp with tannoy efx 5.1 help

hi my onkyo amp is 7.1 but i only have a 5.1 speaker set up,i couldnt use the microphone set up function,the amp just goes to a speaker error message because im missing 2 speakers. i cant access the manual set up feature for some reason either ...........is there away to tell the amp i only have 5.1 set up??

Sounds like you might have the rear speakers connected to the Surround Back Left/Right terminals, rather than the Surround Left/Right.

The receiver will show a speaker error during Auto Set-up if it finds Surround Back speakers but no Surround Left/Right, but not vice versa.
