Onkyo 605 then what...

Hi Ive recently purchased a new Panasonic Plasma (42-TH-PX70) and have pretty much decided (thanks to the forum) that im going to plunge for the Onkyo 605 to replace my current surround sound amp (old cambridge soundworks). Would it be wise to upgrade my current DVD player (pioneer DV-350) and get a new DVD player with upscaler or would the upscaler in the Onkyo do the job? Also, what speakers (style ones) would you recommend with about a £300 budget in mind? Thanks in advance.

the 605 does not have an upscaler you need the 875 at least for an upscaler.

Hi Thanks for the reply.

If I was to purchase the KEF 1005s - would the Onkyo 605 be overkill and therefore is it worth it over the 505?

Im considering the Samsung HD870 - would this do the Onkyo / KEF system justice or is it worth spending a bit more?
