As far as I'm concerned a game-changer in music. There's plenty of others but this one stands out for me.
I remember those Grundig radios... snazzy beastsRemember first hearing it, out in the sun, with full-sized (Eagle) headphones plugged into one of these http://vintage-radios-london.co.uk/Vintage-1970s-GRUNDIG-PARTY-BOY-700-3-Band-LW-MW-FM-Portable-Transistor-Radio
only mono from MW Radio 1, but sounded great - though it was a revelation in FM stereo on my Fidelity music centre (when Radios 1 & 2 joined up for the Top 40 Show on Sunday nights).
40 years later, playback equipment is better, the same can't be said for the music.
Can you imagine another game-changer like Donna's these days?
I was into Japan when I was but a mere sprog, but I haven't listened to David Sylvian, or that track, since the late 80s. but I'll have a listen again tomorrow, when I can raise the volume a little.I would always have massive trouble if someone asked me what my top 10 songs were, but if I could only name one it would probably be Nostalgia by David Sylvian.
