.....still in daily use in your home/work/whatever.

Mine is my Akai AM-U11 amplifier which is providing the sound from my home desktop pc - bought c. 1980 from my Mum's Kays catalogue. I can't bring myself to get rid after all it's been through.

Currently listening to: Doobie Brothers first album.

Beresford DAC. Just over a year old.

Have ancient (three year old) Pure DAB/FM radio upstairs that is going to be replaced pretty soon for a Roberts 83i wi-fi streaming model so we can have BBC 'listen again' service on it for missed 'Archers' episodes and old R7 comedies etc.

(Too much 'faff' powering up the bedroom computer for old Archers stuff as there is risk of waking up completely when out of bed and actually having to listen to it.)

The CD player I'm using at present (Sansui CD-X111) is 20 years old and working perfectly. My new JVC T-X2L tuner, which I've thoroughly enjoyed today and cost me the grand total of £8.55, is nearer 30, and my new JVC amp (which I should get next week) is about the same age.

Brilliant!

Mine went through similar strife all connected to living in a Nurses Home in a psychiatric hospital when doing my training:

Parties - connected numerous speakers that eventually blew the internal fuses;

Party - someone sat on it and bent the casing necessitating dismantling and replacement of a couple of screws. Unfortunately my DIY mate took hold and put an overly-long screw through the casing and the power button so that I could never switch it off;

Party - Scottish Gerry burst into the nurses home lounge in celebration of passing his exams. Unfortunately he also had a water fire extinghuisher in hand and went postal with it. Despite making a Didier Drogba dive to cover the warped and delicate casing, it blew again.

Fixed once more and it stands proud to this day.

Finally retired my Rotel RP1500 turntable last year - It was a 16th birthday present and it was new....so that's 34 years ago ! It had a Shure N75ED and an Ortofon FF15E on two different headshells one steel and one aluminium.

Currently running a Sansui AU-217 which is around 33 years old and standing in for a Sansui AU-717 which is off being checked over by an engineer. It's also around 33 years old and both are probably the best amps I've heard in their respective classes.

Rotel RA610 amplifier. Bought new by my dad in 1972, used by me from 1989 to 2005, currently doing sterling service for my brother. I have the original receipt (£52 new) and manual. I had it overhauled about ten years ago, new volume control pot and power light were all that needed changing. Fantastic piece of kit!

My Hitachi Ghetto Blaster, which was a present from my parents on my 18th birthday (I'm 35 now. In 3 months I would have had it for half my life).

The volume control is noisy and a few of the tape buttons are missing, but it's in my garage and I use it to amplify my Roland electronic drum kit. It's hooked up to some Eltax floorstanders my Dad gave me for nowt, but the original detachable speakers are around here somewhere.

Not a, take a deep breath, 3D Bass Super Woofer Twin Drive by any chance Chris? I've still got one of those in my garage too. Complete with "Bass Boost" button which if you had turned off there was pretty much NO bass!

Having upgraded my stuff a few times I dont really have anything too old. Probably my oldest current stuff is my Mission 780s, or as theyre not reallyl electronics, my cheapo Cambridge Audio amp which I used with an iPod downstairs. Even then its only about 3 years old!

Sansui model 250 valve reciever. made in 1965. Got a technics tape deck fro the 80s as well.

Crikey, I thought my kit was old. My Arcam Alpha CDP, Audiolab 8000a and Epos ES11s are all 18 years old (give or take a month) and still going strong, and my Dad is still using my 24 year old Sony CDP.

I love my old Marantz tuner - had it 31 years and only recently is it showing its age. At the moment it's a static exhibit, like old televisions it needs a bash to work properly.

Pioneer

A-7 non-switching amp

turntable

S-9 Equaliser

Twin cassette (currently sat in its box)

All multiregional kit and bought in Akihabara district in Tokyo circa May 1982. Currently acting as stereo for daughter (PXed the original Pioneer speakers - two monstrous beasts, so she has "inherited" B & W DM 220is from 1987) pending saving up for Sonos kit. The A-7, having been refurbished recently, will then amplify output from a Sonos 90.

Thanks for the picture!

Is the duster a reminder of what you keep forgetting to do...

My pioneer SA-9800 is approx 30 years old .... recently recapped/fully serviced (with really good caps) .... sounds as good as new

Have an old Pioneer receiver/amp which is even older .... connected to Leak sandwich speakers .... excellent combination and was dirt cheap

I've a vintage pair of B&W's DM17 (somewhere from 1982-1984), you can say an early ancestor of current B&W 805's.

Speakers are hooked on a Sony LBT-V901 amplifier with a CDP-M97 (cd-player) and a ST-V901L tuner. These used to belong to my dad, which he bought around 1990.
He also got the phono player of this series, it's accumulating dust at the moment.

The right speaker channel of the amp is letting me down sometimes (no volume)... :-(

I bought an A and R cambridge A30 amp (33 watts per channel) about late 1978 I think.I brought it out of the loft so my daughter could use it. A very euphonic sound. It used to score very highly in blind listening tests.

A good amp cheers tonky

My granddad (94 in September) is still using his Goodmans Module 80 every week. That unit must be 35 years old or more, and is still working fine.
