and have to say I'm very disappointed. It's midrange is very good indeed but it's otherwise an incredibly dull-sounding pair. And is simply bad for classical music - it frankly sounds lo-fi.

Horses for courses I suppose, but I prefer my Sennheiser CX300s.

Personally I think Shure should be ashamed for releasing such a high-priced mediocre pair.

I got an OK fit with the small size foam buds supplied, but it's not the bass I'm complaining about (which I find ample), it's the overall clarity.

It has a good, wide soundstage in the head, and sounds just about OK for rock/pop, but listen to classical and it's exposed for the dullard it is. It simply lacks mid-to-high-frequency clarity.

It does have very good detail though.

Maybe you have a duff pair? We certainly had no problems with classical clarity on our review sets (we've had a couple of pairs in over the past year).

Sorry to "kidknap" you Clare but could you check out the Computer Music section when you get a mo as there is a question for you......
