Hi,
I have just bought a Technics SL-D2 turntable and very pleased with it I am too.
The previous owner stored it away for a number of years after he went to uni and has never used it since.
I have set the balance weight and stylus pressure and the ant-skate and everything works fine, speed etc all spot on,in fact a very nice little turntable.
All I am replacing is the stylus as I feel its the right thing to do after all these years although it still sounds pretty good.
One thing I did notice is the previous owner wrote in the manual that he oiled it in March 1983 using the original Technics oil which is now no longer available. As I feel that I would like to give it a couple of drops of oil to be on the safe side could you suggest a good alternative to the no longer available Technics brand.
Thanks
