Have you set on your AVs front speakers to Large? There doesn’t seem to be much bass to the B&W 603 S3 speakers, is this normal? My sub has currently stop working so no fix there.
Small to get the subwoofer working, which it currently isn’t. 🙂Have you set on your AVs front speakers to Large?
I have just plug in my Pioneer VSX-LX70 amp and now the bass is better and I got my sub working on this amp!Mine are fine Gel and i ike my Bass like daytona said move them closer to the wall .
Hi, from my experience with B&W speakers, they tend to be bass shy as a norm. Better placement and some way of biamp will help. One friend has old B&W 603 with pre/power from Musical Fidelity, 199X stuff, quite good sound. BR.There doesn’t seem to be much bass to the B&W 603 S3 speakers, is this normal? Yep, that’s what AI was saying about the bass for these speakers too.Hi, from my experience with B&W speakers, they tend to be bass shy as a norm. Better placement and some way of biamp will help. One friend has old B&W 603 with pre/power from Musical Fidelity, 199X stuff, quite good sound. BR.
Yes, this is quite typical feature of them. When backed by great power and cintrol they have precise bass but not booming. Not for Home Cinema freaks.Yep, that’s what AI was saying about the bass for these speakers too.

Thanks, I will try that tomorrow now. 👍I disagree the bass from these speakers is the best i have had .They are rear ported just move them closer to a wall.
Just moved them and they are better now. Thanks guys.I disagree the bass from these speakers is the best i have had .They are rear ported just move them closer to a wall.
They are definitely not bright.these speakers have 2 subs in them set up correctly you cant beat them .ive also heard they are to bright ob the treble i disagree.
It's all relative! There doesn’t seem to be much bass to the B&W 603 S3 speakers, is this normal? My sub has currently stop working so no fix there.
That's weird Gel on my Denon I done the 7:1 calibration via software and the supplied mic, this was seamless process. It captured front and back speakers, the centre, SW and atmos.Small to get the subwoofer working, which it currently isn’t. 🙂
I had missed this response. It makes if you are using a sub. As yours isn't working, you have potentially activated the amps high pass filter so are not generating higher frequencies.Small to get the subwoofer working, which it currently isn’t.
No I didn’t recalibrate the Pioneer, I will do that. ThanksIt's all relative!
Have you been using them with a sub? They are going to have less bass than you are used to.
The stats say they go down to 46hz. If I compare that to my Tannoy, they go to 39hz, that's probably because they are about 50% larger.
Firstly, make sure you are getting the most out of them. Have you recalibrated your receiver to tell it there is no longer a sub?
Have a play with the positioning, moving back towards the wall will reinforce the bass, but too close and it will get muddy.
The Denon amps are excellent for calibrating, Pioneer amps not so. Basically I couldn’t get Bluetooth to work on it, so I unplugged the amp left it for 2 mins, and then replugged it, in this process the sub stopped working for some reason. That's weird Gel on my Denon I done the 7:1 calibration via software and the supplied mic, this was seamless process. Was it same with your Pioneer AVR? Perhaps you just need to recalibrate the whole thing again.
If all fails, reset your receiver to factory settings and start again.
Will do, thanks. 🙏I had missed this response. It makes if you are using a sub. As yours isn't working, you have potentially activated the amps high pass filter so are not generating higher frequencies.
Sep them to large until you get you sub back up and running.
Yes, this is what I am doing now, I have my Pioneer VSX-LX70 amp connected to the B&W 603 S3 speakers and the PV1 sub and listening to music Bluetooth wise from a Logitech Bluetooth device and is all going really well! I have even connected an optical cable for the TV sound.I have just plug in my Pioneer VSX-LX70 amp and now the bass is better and I got my sub working on this amp!
