No picture from Apple TV

I'm trying to set up an Apple TV with a 16:9 CRT TV (Philips 28PW8608). I've tried both a component-to-SCART cable and a single cable from the green socket on the ATV to the composit video input. At least the last solution should work (though only with a black&white picture).

Nothing but the blue 'no imput' screen though.

I've currently no chance to connect to a HD TV.

Anyone who knows what might be wrong?

I suspect the issue in the first instance is you're trying to output a component (YPbPr) signal into the RGB scart input - you need to get a converter for this (like this one). In the second instance, have you set the Apple TV's resolution to 480i or 576i before connecting it up? If you get it working, this little hack apparently lets you view in colour.

I think your right about the RGB issue.

Why the green-to-composite trick don't work, I still don't know...

Turned out it was that crappy cable...

I'm no member of the Holy Church of the Divine Cable -- but I ought to know that bad plugs and solderings might stop the signal.
