HDCP 2.2 has been around since 2013. It is as close to a bog standard as you can get, which is pretty rare these days.

It is a near unforgivable lapse from LG that their latest products either don't have it implemented or is demonstrably buggy. I was looking to treat myself to a shiny LG OLED this Christmas. I guess I'll wait.

The problem is most likely some component was changed by the manufacturer and LG was unaware of this.

I have a 65" LG OLED C1 and it works. Given that the problem effects Vs made in September 2021 onward, that's most likely the reason for the problem. LG has done a very good job of owning up to the problem.
