Newbie need advice

I have an old Marantz SR7001 with Tannoy Saturn S8 while all along playing my

my music cds from an dvd player.

I am more into music now so I am going to invest in a new cd player of about US$700.

If I have a budget of US$2500 for Amp and Speakers, should I change them both or should

I keep the old ones ???

Why don't you just go to a dealer and buy a complete system. You should be able to negotiate a bit of discount really and get a system that is more than the sum of the parts.
