Ouch, more power to the new Epos....Rumour is these new Dovedales could be priced around £5K........😳 with that "made in England" premium!
Another pair with BBCesque look. It's becoming a habit, Wharfedale, Mission.... who owns them? That explains quite a bit.Rumour is these new Dovedales could be priced around £5K........😳 with that "made in England" premium!
I think the success of the Linton speaker has perhaps gone to their head a little.....?Another pair with BBCesque look. It's becoming a habit, Wharfedale, Mission.... who owns them? That explains quite a bit.
At 5k the Dovedales will be competing with the likes of Harbeth C7....
They obviously using the tooling and technology. But speakers the of Dovedale and Linton will have a fairly limited UK audience, as many, like yours truly, want something more compact (more affordable). IMO 4-5k for a pair of speakers is way outside a lot of UK pockets.I think the success of the Linton speaker has perhaps gone to their head a little.....?
I would imagine they will go down well in Japan.....They obviously using the tooling and technology. Peter Comeau talks about the Lintons in the YouTube link saying that they are like Lintons on steroids and a 3 way in the Lintons' vein. The Lintons with stands are £1250. These Dovedales look similar too so should be about £1750 (£2000 tops) if they are directly comparable but the next one up.Rumour is these new Dovedales could be priced around £5K........😳 with that "made in England" premium!
The Teesdale slotted above the Glendale and I owned a pair bought new in 1979.I notice that Wharfedale have bypassed the Glendale reboot and gone straight to the Dovedale... The Kingsdale next? that will be a monster if they upgrade the originals 15" woofer 😂

Might be. To me the current line makes quite sense. When they describe an additional speaker basically as a better Linton, why not replacing the Linton altogether . Or would they perhaps make a transition?I think the success of the Linton speaker has perhaps gone to their head a little.....?
Never heard of the Teesdale, so I did a search and came up with Wharfedales next retro resurrection...The Teesdale slotted above the Glendale and I owned a pair bought new in 1979.
Would love to have heard those...interesting design! I wonder if separate volume controls for mid and treble drivers will reappear.......🤔Never heard of the Teesdale, so I did a search and came up with Wharfedales next retro resurrection...

Those weren't the Teesdale I owned. If I elaborate the model was Teesdale SP2.Never heard of the Teesdale, so I did a search and came up with Wharfedales next retro resurrection...

So that's £750 or so for the actual pair of 700 speakers and stands and £1140 for the Made In England sticker.Hum, if the 770's are £3300 I wonder what their baby brother is going to cost?
My guess is £1890
(I wonder if the Made in England sticker is made in England? Maybe they have bought it from China!)
Interesting, though it already looks worn out and second hand in the folder. With a modern day approach it would be more presentable at least.Never heard of the Teesdale, so I did a search and came up with Wharfedales next retro resurrection...
