Hi,

The engineer came over today. Seemed to agree about the clouding. I think they were directly related to COMET but i was impressed at how objective they were, he was a really genuine guy - though i might just have been lucky this time. If you have clouding and can try and make it visible in the daytime, they will see it as a fault. At least these ones have done.

I Now have credit of around £1070 at the store. Because of the exchanges i am reading on this forum regarding the W4500, i am really put off getting a straight swap, and considering another model. Though i did ask that if i got another, would the engineer still be as likely to authorise an exchange. He said that it isnt really exceptable on a TV of this expense so, yes (and he was only viewing it in the day! and not getting the full effect).

Can anyone recomend another potential model. I play quite a few games and my sessions are around an hour at a time - however sometimes can be three times that if i have a free day or am get into something. So i'm not sure about plasma and burn in. I have heard they are much better these days though. So i havent ruled out plasma.

The MAIN thing though, is a good handling of 1080/24p. Would prefer that the set was true 1080p and had 100hz also.

Any suggesstions?

I do really rate this TV, it has everything i need, so it pains me to be swayed away getting another!

Thanks.

Just so you know, three hours won't be an issue with burn-in on plasmas - I had a week off not long ago and was playing LittleBigPlanet pretty much 8 - 9 hours straight on my plasma! I've also left games on overnight as have fallen asleep in front of the TV and no issues with this either.

Yeah, I'm currently trying to decide between the PZ85 or the PZ81 comet claim on their website that nether have 24p technology, but i think the reality is that BOTH sets have 24p real cinema? am i right in saying this?

yes you are right, i have the pz85 and it does have 24p cinema and what a great tv to boot buy with confidance... 🙂

Yep your right! I have the pz85 and it does have 24p cinema and plays 24p blurays without a judder in sight. buy with confidence great tv...
