I recently purchased a Project Debut Carbon turntable, Arcam A19 amp and Heresy III speakers. I was very excited to get the system setup however when i played my first record I was very disappointed with the bass output. Any suggestions? Did i get the wrong mix of products? Should I add a subwoofer? Thanks everyone in advance.

I did the installation. Seemed pretty straight forward. When you say "in phase" do you is red connected to red and black to black?

As mentioned, do the speakers have bass with other sources? Looking at the specs it doesn't look like they go that low. Also, if very new the bass may be lacking for the first 2-3 hours of play.

I take, from your post, that you bought all of this set-up new. I assume you did not audition it before you bought it.

Not heard your speakers before and not sure of the size of your listening room. Although I am not a great believer of 'burn-in' times for the likes of amplifiers etc I would give things a while to settle in, but not too long. The system is unlikely to improve dramatically.

I'd replace your cartridge if it is an Ortofon 2M Red.

As per earlier suggestion - try playing an alternative source to the turntable such as a CD Player through line-in, this will help you to eliminate either one or two components as the source of the problem....
