New System Advice Please

I have a budget of about £1,000 for a new set up.

I quite like the idea of loading my cd collection onto HD and would be interested to learn if any one has experiece or comments on the Sony NACHD1E NETWORK/CD PLAYER & HD RECORDER. or an alterantive.

I am already sold on Mourdant Mezzo 2 speakers so it then leaves the question of suitable amp. Any ideas?

I heard the Mezzo 6 with Cambridge Audio kit (840A & 840C) and was not impressed. What was driving your Mezzo 2 when you heard it? If you haven't heard them, I strongly suggest you do before buying.

You might want to consider a media centre PC if you are planning on storing your music digitally. Or just an existing PC in your house rigged up to a DAC. That way you can, legally of course (snigger), download music from tinternet too.
