New surround sound speakers

Hi

I am in the market for a new surround sound speaker system, I have been looking at Monitor Audio Mass 10 but it is a lot of money which I may be able to stretch to.

However I would like to replace my ageing AV amp so I could go for a cheaper speaker set like the Tannoy HTS 201 and then be able to also get the Sony DN1030

My living room is not large

I wonder if anyone has some advice please?

Which AV receiver have you got? Can you not go for MA Mass now, & upgrade your receiver when funds allow?

Thats certainly an option, my current reciever is an 10 yr + sony one with no HDMI facility so i have been missing out on the better sound on my Blu Rays.

Better speakers but no digital sound

or

Good speakers (assuming they are not as good as the MA) but with digital sound

Have you thought about second hand?There aer some great pieces of kit for quater of there original worth about,usualy they have been looked after aswell,sale due to upgrade.
