I have Nad amplification, a squeezebox touch and Beresford bushmaster mk2

I saw that the stream magic is down in price and wondered if swapping the touch and bushmaster for the stream magic would give a boost in sound quality and functionality?

Cheers in advance for any suggestions

IMO functionality is king, as far as streamers are concerned. It really matters to me how the streaming front end works: a nicely designed GUI, sensible handling of tags and folders, fast response, robustness etc. That's what I'd happily pay for.

As for SQ, I'm not convinced there's much difference. In theory async USB is the best way for a streamer to communicate with a DAC. And you don't want a nasty noisy PSU. Apart from that, I'm not sure what can go wrong with a streamer.

I have to agree with Matt, difference in sound between dacs is very subtile and it takes a quite revealing system just to tell them apart. Functionality is what you want. Make sure you can play your highest resolution files correctly. The stream magic 6 v2 is what I own and recommand it too but It does not support DSD if that matters to you.
