Hi there,
I’m a complete newbie when it comes to hifi. At the moment I just have a Panasonic home stereo connected up to my laptop, it does the job but the subwoofer is gone so I’d like to upgrade. I solely listen to music off of my laptop.
Here’s what I’m thinking of getting:

Laptop

HRT Music Streamer II (dac)

QED Reference Audio J2P

QED Silver Anniversary XT Biwire speaker wire (2.5m) (to connect active speaker to passive)

QED profile stereo phono to phono (3m) (out from active speaker into:

and 2 Clearer Audio Copper-Line Alpha (mains) to plug the speakers and subwoofer into, and a Lindy 6-way extension as I don’t have enough plug sockets in my room.
I will make some custom speaker stands as i've heard the a5's sound better off of the desktop.

Some people may say the subwoofer isn’t needed, but its an essential to me as I love bass-y music.

I would really like some experienced users opinions on this setup. Given that its going to cost nearly £1000 I want it to sound good.
Is the anything in the setup that is unneeded?
Is there any components in this setup that you would change?

The setup is for my uni dorm room, my budget is sub £1000 for everything, I would realy appreciate your advice.
