Looks interesting !

Wonder how much this will be - I reckon around £700 mark - The RP3 is a great starter deck wonder if the P3 sounds better - it certainly looks nicer, cleaner without the on/off switch and a nice glossy plinth and improved RB330 arm.

Wonder how Rega will pitch this deck ?

Rega's RS3 speakers were about £800 and their replacements (RX3s) are £1298.

I'd expect a similar rise for the P3 from £549 (with Elys 2) to around £900.

I would also expect a resurrection of the P2 (with the RB202 tonearm) to plug the gap.

Crikey £900

Well done Rega - they will sell thousands

For a few hundred pounds more you could buy a Clearaudio Concept TT

I am only making a guess informed by the price rises of their speakers.

The 'P2' notion is just based on the fact that they have not had a P2/RP2/Planar 2 in their range for about 7 - 8 years (I owned one of the last version made) and it would slot in nicely between RP1 and P3 with their RB202 arm.

A Giro, but truth is I don't play vinyl enough to warrant it. My old Planar 3 has served me well since I bought it ('86?), but I would like something new. A Planar 6 would probably suit me perfectly.

Honestly, there has been no mention of a Planar 6. That's not to say it isn't going to happen, as anyone with half a brain can probably see where this could lead, but there has been no talk of it.

You HiFi dealers *biggrin* I was speaking to a fella at AudioT this morning about the Planar 3. At first he wouldn't let on, that was until I pointed out that it was on Rega's own website. When I asked about the possibility of a Planar 6, he just asked me if I was going to the Bristol show. In fairness, I suppose he meant I could ask Rega myself. I notice on the Rega website that the Planar 3 is tagged as a P3. Seems to me if they're relaunching as a Planar, it should be tagged as such? Dunno.
