Does anyone know where these new Pioneer models fit in with the new 9th generation LX509D / LX609D:

KRP-500A, KRP-600A, KRP-500M, KRP-600M?

Are the LX509D / LX609D models 9th generation models, and the KRP-500A / 600A / 500M / 600M models 10th generation?

Or is this wrong, and are they all just different 9th generation models?

As always any help would be well appreciated, man.

The KRP models are 9th generation, the difference is that they have a seperate box for the tuner and connections, so the panel is thinner.

No rewerb, the KRP range includes both: - models with seperate media box and integrated models...

The KRP-M models have seperate media box, and the KRP-A are integrated models with tuner and all connections built in...

So, why are there these KRP models as well as the LX509D / LX609D models?

ALL the KRP models have seperate media boxes. The difference between the 'A' and the 'M' models is that the 'M' models do not have any kind of integrated tuners, whereas the 'A' have SD and HD digital tuners in the media box. They are all 9th generation models.

Cheers Fuzzy for clearing that little bit of confusion up for me.

Ok now I'm confused. The info I gave was from a Pioneer press release but I've just seen a bunch of product pictures on another forum that suggest that the KRP M models don't have media boxes and are designed purely as Monitor - 2 HDMI, 1 DVI and 1 PC Inputs. I guess that would make it ideal for anyone hooking up to an AV receiver to manage all their inputs.

That's it Fuzzy. The M models are monitors only and the A's come with the external tuner gubbins, all in a nice piano black shiny box.

I think the Pioneer website list down all the differences. Try the US site which has the most models I think but they might be differences versus the UK models. Why does the US always have to get the most models for almost everything? Life is so unfair! 😛
