Just hooked up my new receiver and have Sky HD running through HDMI and have connected and assigned the optical cable........not getting any Dolby Digital though??? Also tried to connect my WII through the component 'in' (have connected the component 'out' to the tv) but not getting any picture or sound (have also hooked up the white and red RCA)

HELP!!

on the Sky HD - 5.1, for no logical reason, doesn't output from a sky box over HDMi. You need an additional optical cable.

for the Wii, dunno - have you set it up correctly - it should go in via the RCA, but be outputted to the telly via the HDMi, is it properly switching?

Worth noting that not all Sky HD broadcasts are DD 5.1. How many boxes on the amp display are lit up with letters in them?

I connect the Wii to my 905 via the component in and then have it outputting on the HDMI. Have you set it up so that component is upscaled and passed to the HDMI output?

I have an optical cable hooked up with the Sky.....think I've sorted that problem. I have the SKY box assigned to CBL/SAT through HDMI but have hooked up the WII to the CBL/SAT component inputs and have the RCA cables plugged in to the CBL/SAT 'in'......I'm getting the sound from the SKY box with the picture from the WII

You can't hook two components to the same input. You need to change one or other to use a different input (doesn't matter which so long as you know which is which).

You might not have to pull anything out. With the 875, the component ins are assignable, so just assign them to different inputs.

i've just got just my 806 finally hooked up and boy oh boy its a great piece of kit! got a clearer audio copper mains cable running it and it's sharp and very detailed! i'm a very happy man!

sky hd is still running straight to the plasma so the kids dont have to have the amp on as well!
