Please someone help. I'm in the market for a new to me second hand very good quality a/v receiver and i'm quite up to date with new products after much research, but i'm finding it difficuly to find old reviews for good quality gear. Budget can be up to £250 and i don't really want to go older than about 3-4 years. So can anyone let me know make and models that might interest me or where i can can find old reviews. Thanks

Take care with this Bob as you may get stuck with something that you'll have to replace in the future - just make sure that whatever you buy has suitable connections for whatever you're going to be connecting. I give this advice as I bought a Denon AVR-4306 less than two years ago and am shortly going to be replacing it as it doesnt support HD-audio decoding or have HDMI1.3 - both of which I prefer to have. Otherwise, I'm sure there are some bargains out there as these amps dont tend to hold their value real well.

That said, there are a raft of very good value new AV receivers out there within your budget - http://whathifi.com/Reviews/Home-cinema-Reviews/Surround-amplifiers-and-receivers-Reviews/Price_Desc/

Onkyo TX-SR505 - 250
Sony STR-DG710 - 250
Cambridge Audio Azur 340R - 270
