Well, the original Oppo & the Oppo SE version is still available to buy @CRT projectors. But I guess, this will be a pure blu-ray player, rather than a universal player. With the excellent Sony S360 available for £120 with free blu-ray discs today, CRT is going to find it hard to sell the Oppo unless it's available for less than £100 or it's available at Sony S360 / Panasonic BD60 price but with analogues.

Well, this does sound like the much-discussed 'lite' version of the player, which was first mentioned back in early Summer. But then the BDP-83 was first announced for Europe last January or even a bit before, and it was October before we discovered it wasn't going to happen.

Have to say I'll believe it when I see it - on an Oppo UK site and with a proper price and delivery time on it...

If they couldn't get out players that were well received and guaranteed to sell, how can they be expected to manufacture lesser players without such a reputation and charge less? Why bother? Just make and sell the 83 - but they obviously cannot.
