Looking at spending 2k-3k for speakers and amp. Want to move my Quad-lites and Onkyo 606 to spare bedroom for gaming and late night viewing, and upgrade in the lounge. Have a few ideas and wondered if anyone had experience with the MS Mezzo's.Seen a few good deals where i can get the Mezzo 6 for fronts Mezzo 5 centre and Mezzo 2 for rears for £1300, can't afford the sub at over £800. So what sub would be suitable, i was thinking of the BK Monolith at £450. And for amp would Pioneer fit the bill, or should i go for Yamaha or Denon. Other ideas are Dali ikon and may be the Tannoy Revolution, if a good deal comes up. Noticed a slight increase in prices and not so many good deals around at the moment, so if anyone knows of a good deal let me know. Cheers

Decided the Tannoy Revolution is too expensive, and the Dali's look the best value and nearest to performance to the Tannoy's, room size is 20ft x 14ft. would just like a comment or two on the Mezzo's before arranging a demo, what other choices have i. Many thanks.

Are you after a definate speakers set or are you happy to go with anyting, I mean are you strict on say floorstanders up font etc or not. Are you interested in style packages or definatly not, and is the focus of the system music, movies or a mix.

Regarding you amps of choice, are there any brands your particularly intrested in and any your definatly not. I ask because you have experience of an Onkyo but dont seem to want another from this manufacturer and I'm wandering why that might be.

RE the sub, thats just about the best you can get at that price and I wouldnt look any further on that front.ÿ

Looking for an upgrade to my Onkyo 606 and Quad-lites, yes would like floorstanders and would use it just for movies, Reguarding amp, it seems the higher end amps from Pioneer and Denon and Yamaha will offer a bit more against the newer Onkyo's and don't have any heat problems. But may look at the 876 although prices seem to have risen and the other manufactures haven't so in terms of Quality may offer a bit more with higher end speakers, would consider Onkyo again if it was the best choice for my chosen speakers. As for sub it would be my choice if suitable for the Mezzo's, as the price of the Mezzo 9 sub is over £800. Now edging towards the Dali Ikons, unless somebody can convince me that the Mezzo are better or someone suggests something else.

With your budget and home cinema in mind the Dali/Onkyo combination would be my choice. An 876 with Ikons at the front and lektors at the back. Bi-Amp the fronts and get a decent sub.

This pairing really works, lots of authority and detail.

We normally use Sunfire or Rel. An HRS8 may be a bit small for your room size if you have high ceilings so an HRS10 or HRS12 may be better although that may push your budget if you buy individually.
