New amplifier

I currently have a Marantz 67SE CD player and a pair of Monitor Audio Gold speakers all dating from the mid 90s. I need a new stereo amplifier. I need a fairly bright sound as my hearing is not so good these days. Can you recommend something. Max price is around £600. I feel perhaps more than the amp might need changing. If so can you recommend a complete system at a maximum of £1500

The Golds are Mark 2s dating from about 1994. Not the current ones at all

Have a 30 day trial of the Cambridge Audio CA740 from Richer Sounds. Cracking little amp, fast, lively and detailed...I love mine...

What about demo'ing the Rotel RA-1520? Should be able to pick it up ex-dem or just on a deal within your £600 budget. I heard it in demo last year and it might fit the bill for you - loads of detail, pacy and wide soundstage.

New: Yamaha AS-700, Marantz PM7003 or the 8003 on a deal for maybe a little more (circa £699 from £800-odd). Exposure 2010s would be good too I think.
