Perhaps customers are realising that Netflix is getting too expensive, and removing password sharing will probably encourage even more to ditch them.

I think Netflix is excellent value when compared to other platforms, notably Sky and NowTV. Cheaper products are available but don't seem to offer as much choice.

I think for a lot of people streaming services are the equivalent of gym membership. Once the novelty has worn off people are realising they are stumping up a monthly payment for something they might not use very much or if at all. And the ongoing rise in the cost of living has woken them up to the fact.
