Spending £600ish on amp same on each cd and speakers and Turntable. Want speakers on stands. Listen to indie - rock music. Can anyone throw some recommendations. Was looking at Rotel Ra04se amp £300

What size room do you have?
When you say you're looking to spend about £600 on each item, why look at spendng £300 on the heart of your system? It's going to dictate how good your speakers are going to sound, and how well they're going to fill your room.

Room is about 16ft square so quite small. I was just looking at reviews for the amp maybe spending more is a good idea

You could take a look at the Marantz 7004 CD and amplifier combo, which will work extremely well with speakers like Monitor Audio's RX1 or RX2's, KEF's Q300's, and maybe even the Dynaudio DM2/6's or DM2/7's. Rega's new range of turntables will be worth waiting for, but if you can't wait, see if you can pick up an ex-demo P3/24, or maybe even a P5 if you can get one cheap enough.
