Hi All, Currently I own a Cyrus CD6SE, Rotel RB890 (Power Amp) and B&W CM7, my Rotel Pre-amp is causing one side of my new speaker sounds softer than the other. Can anyone suggest me a new pre-amp to complete my system? I normally listen to Jazz and Classical music. I am considering brand like Naim, Arcam, Cyrus, Roken or the new 15 series Rotel Pre-amp....

if your not bothered about kit matching visually,1 bit silver 1 black etc.

check flea bay, audio analogue bellini pre, its the mutts nuts trust me.

excellent m/m m/c phono stage, 2 pre outs, 2 sets of speaker outs for bi wiring.

non remote, you have to use your legs to adjust volume.

there is one on at the moment, one just sold for £150 which is a total bargain.

todays prices for the same quality put a grand on the table...

mmmm....Music First is beyond my budget. Is Rotel RC 1082 a good compromise?... It is having a big discount right here in Singapore...

What is your budget......no point in making recommendations if they are out of range...........

Get another Rotel. The 15 series is looking to be very nice. Did you read the review on WHF for the new RA-1520? It's an integrated but if it's that good, I'd imagine the new pre amps are as well.

Rotel RC 1082 is going at 50% discount because of the new 15 series here in Singapore. It is very tempting to get one at around 400 Pounds! My budget should not go beyond 800pounds...

Yes! I did and it seems that the new 15 series is good enough to drive my B&W CM7 but the Rotel dealer here was recommending me the outgoing RC 1082 because it is a great deal at 50% discount and that it is not very much different from the new RC 1580. However, I am willing to pay the extra if 1580 is significantly better. Does anyone has an ideas of these two pre-amps?

If all your input devices have digital (SPDIF) outputs and you don't play vinyl records, why bother with a pre-amp at all? Just buy a high quality DAC with a variable output (such as the Beresford) and plug that directly into your power amp. ie use the DAC as a "digital pre-amp" and save yourself some money, take an unecessary amplification stage out of the chain and get a better quality sound.
