Once again, £1800 speakers 'the size of a shoebox' (it might have been 'a large shoebox') on substantial stands, (we were not told the price of the stands. Let's guess £200) that are supposed to be suitable for people lacking space or 'the smaller room'.

The footprint of those stands and the volume of space that the stands + speakers effectively occupy make no sense, in terms of being small objects. A very capable £2000-worth of floor stander could occupy the same volume in a room, standing on the same footprint, and provide superior results.

The bête-noir of speakers like this was rumbled when the review mentioned the drop-off in performance if the speakers had to go 'on a shelf'

Neat speakers are a mere shadow of their former selves, since the excellent designer, Derek Gilligan left to form Kudos Audio. Neat would have a formidable range if they had not fallen out with Derek, shot in the foot springs to mind Robert?
