See Naim Unitilite comments above in readers' awards - cut and paste wouldn't go for me!

For the record

I ( after very long deliberation - a long audition and an extensive home demo) have bought the above. The sound is very nice - very listenable and even handed over all types of music - everything sounds good. Internet radio is a superb facility - even radio 2 sounds good! Streaming is very good!

I have started committing cds to a hard drive. I may buy a large usb flash drive too. But cds still play a large part of listening. I've realised I don't need to play loud to be drawn into the music. Also I have found out that explicit detail isn't everything. But the detail ,richness and overall balance of sound from the unilite package is excellent. It might be all everything anybody could want.

I listen through my epos es14 speakers (had these preowned for 7 years now - explicitly clear - lovely soundstage). This is my first post on the new website! - I put it here because I couldn't easily find a way to post a new forum post!. Anyway Naim unitilite gets my vote !

I agree - great thread - thanks for that - too kind

As a newcomer to using Naim aquipment (but not new to listening to music through good quality components) I suppose I was a bit sceptical of Naim. I am not the sort of person to spend lots of money on the never ending cycle of upgrades etc. Some of my best buys are preowned equipment for bargain prices.

eg epos es 14, rega brio, pioneer a400, denon dcd 1500AR. Naim Uniti ex-demo. I was wary of the streaming route etc but this all in one solution seems to have solved it for me. (easy to set up etc) And great sound quality! It's not as loud or quite as dynamic as my 6 year old cambridge 840A v2 but the overall balance and listenability of all types of music is better - more involving. Low level listening is (for me) is much better too. Play my tv and blu rays through it too - all round ability!

Reading other threads it's easy to see how easy it can be to spend large amounts of money and not hear the improvements that you might expect (take the excellent Sugden 21se amp thread for instance). I have had some spare cash available for quality hifi improvements but have listened and had demos for about 2 years or so before I bought tis demo model in leicester (excellent demo at Cymbiosis)

Any other informed view points around? cheers Tonky
