Naim Partnering Advice

I checked out Naim 5i amp/cd versus Rega Apollo / Mira combo and was underwhelmed by both - particularly the Rega kit. I've been planning on checking out the Cyrus 8SE / 8 amp and would like to compare against the new Naim XS but not sure which CD player of theirs makes the best match - any suggestions? I assume that the 5x is the planned partner but how does this compare versus the 5i? Worth the extra money? Also why does no-one talk about Primare? Is this up to scratch? Do they ever update their kit?

Currently got: Arcam 8R Amp / Marantz 67SE CD / Epos Speakers

If you are used to Arcam then none of these systems may be right for you. Chalk and cheese, I for one don't get on with the Naim sound, it's like a mini system sound to me, all attack and no musical style
